Larry Pinson Sr.


Larry Pinson Sr. was born in Newnan, Georgia, and his family moved to Chicago when he was six years old. He was a civilian employee at the Postal Service from 1995 to 2009. He worked as assistant driver and salesman for Central Distributors in Chicago. He was a cashier clerk, a field auditor, and a personnel and receiving clerk at A&P Food Store in Chicagoland. Pinson served in the US Army for two years, from 1967 to 1969. From 1971 to 1989, he was active in the Illinois National Guard and became a second lieutenant in 1974. He became a first lieutenant in 1977 and a police company commander in 1980. He retired as a captain in 1989 and was promoted to a major. Pinson spends his time playing basketball and baseball. He also loves to travel and eat in fine dining restaurants.
